It comes out as a wine (merlot) color. Very nice for the holidays. Tip: Polish is runny compared to Gelish brand, don't get too much on the brush, as while painting the nails, the polish can shift. Less is more ;-) Otherwise, very nice wear. I've only had it on for a few days, so far no chipping.
