I have gone through others, ceramic, paddle, you name it, I have tried it and I have always come back to this brush. It is the only brush I have ever found that gets through my thick hair. Every other brush just kind of skims the surface of my hair, it doesn't go all the way through to get out tangles, etc...this brush does! And it doesn't hurt you in the process. They last forever, the only thing is that after a few years the rubber handle starts to fall apart. But that should be expected since it is several years old and I stick it in the dishwasher about 2x a month to sanitize it. That reminds me of another great quality of the brush, the bristles don't fall out. Once in a while I'll pull one out while I can trying to clean the hair out of it, but it happens very infrequently. I was panic striken when I went to my local Beauty Supply to buy a new one recently and was told that they no longer carried this style! I can't say enough about it - I LOVE this brush and I am so glad that I found it online!
